Shi Li Fang 食立方

Shi Li Fang offers nothing like the traditional hot pot that we commonly know. The miniature simmering pot had been thoughtfully designed, perfect for hungry patrons who adore a personal hearty grub fare. A U-shaped gastrobar counter that centers on a 360-degree service delivers a cosy meal in a non-fanciful, nonetheless, modern-contemporary orange interior.

There are 6 soup bases to choose from, with fresh ingredients daily including meat, poultry, seafood, a wide selection of vegetables and not to mention the high-grade beef for an experience of real taste bud delights. The hot pot also allows you to sample over 30 heavenly choices of dipping sauces, including Shi Li Fang’s signature sesame sauce. Not to mention that all the sauces are free of charge.

Patrons can partake in the making by shredding your own noodles into the pot and have fun squeezing out the fish or prawn glue (minced paste) from the piping bag like a cake decorateur in the making.

Joie by Dozo

Located on the roof top garden of Orchard Central, Joie (pronounced ‘joy’) by Dozo Restaurant, presents a refreshing concept that specialises in modern meatless cuisine. Influenced by the new wave dining trend in Europe and Taiwan that focuses on uplifting and innovative natural fare prepared with the freshest vegetables, fruits and herbs, owner of Joie, Mr Huang Yen Kun looks to conjure the same fervour in Singapore.

Mr Huang and his team of chefs have been developing this concept for the past few years. In line with Dozo’s famous set menu concept, its unique presentation and creativity, and using many uncommon ingredients, diners can choose from an elaborate six-course lunch or seven-course dinner consisting of contemporary dishes with Japanese-European sensibilities and flavours. Helmed by Executive Chef Sherwin Sim, formerly of Coriander Leaf Restaurant, guests will be challenged to put aside their misconceptions about meatless cuisine with his refined and original creations.

Surrounded by Orchard Central’s serene rooftop garden, Joie is a sanctuary above the bustle of the busy Orchard shopping district, affording sweeping views of nearby Somerset and Orchard Road. Upon entering the restaurant via the escalator from the 11th floor, guests are greeted by a luminous dining room with light streaming in from its floor to ceiling windows. Bronze and grey overtones dot the space with a contemporary chic ambience from the bronze light fixtures and the grey tiled floor. Diners can choose a seat along the plush leather-quilted banquette, luxurious velvet armchairs or at no additional cost, one of the five private rooms which seats four to sixteen people.
