Shi Li Fang 食立方

Shi Li Fang offers nothing like the traditional hot pot that we commonly know. The miniature simmering pot had been thoughtfully designed, perfect for hungry patrons who adore a personal hearty grub fare. A U-shaped gastrobar counter that centers on a 360-degree service delivers a cosy meal in a non-fanciful, nonetheless, modern-contemporary orange interior.

There are 6 soup bases to choose from, with fresh ingredients daily including meat, poultry, seafood, a wide selection of vegetables and not to mention the high-grade beef for an experience of real taste bud delights. The hot pot also allows you to sample over 30 heavenly choices of dipping sauces, including Shi Li Fang’s signature sesame sauce. Not to mention that all the sauces are free of charge.

Patrons can partake in the making by shredding your own noodles into the pot and have fun squeezing out the fish or prawn glue (minced paste) from the piping bag like a cake decorateur in the making.

If you think Hot pot is no place for a quick fix, this business will set the precedent by dishing out your orders in under 5 minutes. For the office crowd, you can still enjoy a satiable meal with less than 40 minutes on hand, from the time you cook to savouring the last bite of your food.

This is one restaurant that commits to delivering all natural, healthy, sustainable food that truly lives up to its reputation – No MSG, No deep-fried, No pan-fried, and No stir-fried are the basis of its delectable on the table. Despite its credentials, the atmosphere at Shi Li Fang is casual and relaxed, with a fun, cheap thrill element inclusive. It’s also suitable for families and friends as the restaurant also provides bigger pots and dining table styles for gatherings and groups.

Expect nothing less from Shi Li Fang. A platter of melt-in-the-mouth textures is definitely within reach of gastronauts at student-friendly prices. We dreamed of the miniature hotpot for days afterwards. Quality food can be an inexpensive affair, and value-for-money meal prices range from $12 to $20.

NANTSUTTEI

The basic flavor from the Nantsuttei restaurants.

The soup is a rich, creamy tonkotsu (pork bone) soup. Floating on the surface of the soup is the fragrant black ma-yu (roast garlic oil), a flavor that has not changed since the restaurant first opened.

This black ma-yu is an iconic component of the Nantsuttei flavor created by frying garlic over seven phases and mixing it into a balanced blend for an exquisite harmony of flavors.

The soup, noodles, toppings and the black ma-yu come together in the bowl to create a perfectly balanced and delicious ramen.

THE 1872 CLIPPER TEA CO.

In 1872, a young man named Balage Porolis de Silva embarked on a journey into the world of luxury. He set up a jewellery boutique along High Street, Singapore, presenting not only the finest gems, but also serving the best Ceylon tea to his customers. Gradually, the B.P. de Silva brand name grew in reputation and became synonymous with artistry and craftsmanship. The family continues to extend the very same values and philosophy of fine jewellery into tea, elevating tea beyond a simple beverage to a premium gift. This led to the creation of The 1872 Clipper Tea Co., whose name pays tribute to the historic Clipper ships that raced to carry chests of the freshest teas to all corners of the world, at the same time acknowledging the year we planted our roots in Singapore.

Today, The 1872 Clipper Tea blends are widely appreciated for its consistency in quality, signature aroma and refined taste.

Mak’s Noodle

Mak’s Noodle opens its first franchised outlet in Orchard Road at The Centrepoint. Known as a family establishment with traditional methods, our chef even looks into the quality of the ingredients which is directly shipped from the branch in Central, Hong Kong to Singapore. Our promise is to ensure 95% of similarity in taste just like the restaurants in Hong Kong.

Our wonton noodles are filled in a small bowl as it was originally intended to be a snack and not a main dish in Canton. Small serving keeps the noodles from turning soggy. Noodles served are springy in texture and taste. We pride ourselves upon using fresh shrimps as our ingredients in each wonton. The soup is made from a secret recipe passed down over three generations in Mak’s family legacy. The proportion and measurement of every ingredient strictly follows traditional methods.

Mak’s Noodle intends to provide a “happy stomach” with an authentic Hong Kong dish at an affordable price.

Jing Hua Xiao Chi

Simple and authentic. Since 1989, Mr. and Mrs. Han have been serving Tianjin dumplings, Xiao Long Bao and noodles out of their original Neil Road shop at the edge of Chinatown. Over time they’ve tweaked the family recipes they brought from China to suit Singapore. Light and fresh, Jing Hua’s dumplings and noodles are as flavorful as the original but tailored to a Southern taste. This is no-nonsense, old-school Singapore dining for those in the know.
