Mikio Yamano, the grandson of Aiko Yamano, went in search of natural materials that had cleansing and skin restoration properties in Russia. He found them in the mysterious Kohaku, a precious amber stone that originates from the fossilized tree resin of primeval pine trees about 50 million years ago. Widely known for its medicinal properties, amber has been used since ancient times to treat various diseases. Since then, Kohaku has been a prime ingredient in the production of their beauty line of products. The Kohaku can only be found in Yamano’s line of products, since they alone hold exclusive rights to extract and develop this raw resource.

Despite the advent and popularity of facial equipment, lotions with special chemicals and state-of-the-art technology, Yamano’s traditional, time-tested Japanese treatments and techniques have not only managed to endure the test of time, they have also become incredibly popular. We were told by Face + manger Jasmine, that Yamano rarely does any advertising of their products and services, relying instead, mostly on word-of-mouth promotion by their clients.
